In Thatcher's Britain of the late '80s, closeted secondary school gym teacher Jean (Rosy McEwen) walked a fine line between nights clubbing with out partner Viv (Kerrie Hayes) and days spent living a lie in order to preserve career. When new student Lois (Lucy Halliday) faces harassment for her sexuality, Jean finds herself forced to take a stand.
