CEREMONIAL OATH - CARPET

10-track re-issue of this cult classic from melodic death metal act Ceremonial Oath. Featuring a who's who of musicians who would later find global success with various Swedish acts. Originally released in 1994 via Black Sun, 'Carpet' was not really an album at all, comprising instead of two demos and a bonus Iron Maiden cover. This version adds three bonus tracks; a Metallica cover, plus two tracks recorded for the compilation 'W.A.R. Volume 1'. The first three tracks feature Anders Friden on vocals, now the frontman of Swedish metal giants In Flames. The following three feature vocalist Tomas Lindberg, the iconic frontman of At the Gates. Both the Maiden and Metallica covers have Friden on vocals. Other celebrated members of Ceremonial Oath included Oscar Dronjak, later of Hammerfall, Jesper Stromblad, later guitarist of In Flames, and bassist Anders Iwers, later of Cemetary and Tiamat. Contains brand new interviews with Anders Iwers and drummer Markus Nordberg, recounting how Ceremonial Oath became the nearly-men of Swedish Death Metal.
