NO-NA-MEES - GOTTA HOLD ON/JUST WANNA BE MYSELF

We go back to the garage for Uprising's fourth release. This is the No-Nâ-Mee's' only release as themselves. They did once back a rockabilly singer on his 45, but apart from that they were just your usual 'any gigs we can get' local teen band. Recorded in California in 1966, both sides are frantic, Farfisa organ-driven pounders, which has made them firm dancefloor fillers in the clubs of today. Original promo copies sell for a few hundred pounds whereas stock copies are almost impossible to find. This may explain why the band fell out with their producer and label later that year, and disappeared, never to be heard from again.
