This limited Japanese SHM-CD and Blu-ray edition includes two discs in a SHM-CD and Blu-ray configuration. The release features the 2026 Mix: Elemental Mix & Beyond and is issued as a Limited Edition. Celebrating the 50th anniversary series, King Crimson's 1971 album Islands, the final release by the first-era lineup featuring brass and woodwinds, returns in a deluxe edition containing 1 SHM-CD and 1 Blu-ray (audio only). This set features a new 2026 mix by Steven Wilson, David Singleton's Elemental Mix, and the complete recording sessions from Island Studios and Command Studios recorded in summer 1971. The Blu-ray includes high-resolution 24/96 stereo audio, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround mixes, the Elemental Mix, complete session material, and the reissued 4-channel version of "Live at Summit Studios," along with numerous additional recordings. For the Japanese edition, the CD is a domestically pressed SHM-CD and the Blu-ray is a European pressing, all housed in a Japan-exclusive UK edition-inspired gatefold cardboard sleeve with an extra cardboard sleeve and exclusive artwork.
