Mina the Hollower's old-school soul is alive and well in it's stellar soundtrack. Composers Jake Kaufman and Yuzo Koshiro cooked up a chiptune-tastic feast using some pretty OG hardware; the original Game Boy sound chip, with just a sprinkling of the Konami Sound Cartridge (from the MSX) added to taste. The result is one of the best soundtracks of the year, video game or otherwise. Equal parts creepy and cozy, the music of Mina sets the perfect mood for it's brilliantly-realized gothic world. iam8bit is proud to partner with the fine folks at Yacht Club Games to bring Mina's soundtrack to life with a very special release. This is the Mina the Hollower 3xLP, pressed on rich, gorgeous Velvet Purple Splatter Vinyl. For the album artwork, we once again turned to Mina's retro roots for inspiration. The center labels feature a zoetropeinspired design with Mina herself in action, a celebration of Yacht Club's devotion to the craft of pixel art and animation. The jacket, with art from our friend Nimit Malavia, boasts 3Denhanced details - and in the spirit of everything throwback, we've included special Mina-themed 3D glasses that actually work with the artwork! The result is a release that feels like a truly unique piece of video game history.
