Two years after his wife's death in a car accident, journalist John Klein (Richard Gere) is surprised when a D.C.-to-Richmond drive somehow lands him in a small West Virginia town whose residents claim to have seen a bizarre moth-like being similar to one his wife saw just before the fatal crash.
