TRACKS II: THE LOST ALBUMS réunit sept disques inédits de Bruce Springsteen enregistrés entre 1983 et 2018. Avec 82 chansons jamais publiées, Tracks II: The Lost Albums comble des chapitres entiers de la vaste carrière de Springsteen, tout en offrant un éclairage inestimable sur sa vie et son travail d'artiste. "The Lost Albums were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released," a déclaré Springsteen. "I've played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I'm glad you'll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them." De l'exploration lo-fi des LA Garage Sessions '83, maillon essentiel entre Nebraska et Born in the U.S.A., aux boucles de batterie et aux sons de synthétiseur des Streets of Philadelphia Sessions. Tracks II: The Lost Albums apporte un contexte inédit à 35 années prolifiques d'écriture et d'enregistrement maison de Springsteen. "The ability to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to go into a wide variety of different musical directions," a expliqué Springsteen. Tout au long du coffret, cette expérimentation sonore prend la forme d'une musique de film (pour un long-métrage jamais réalisé) sur Faithless, de formations country avec pedal steel sur Somewhere North of Nashville, de récits frontaliers richement tissés sur Inyo, d'un noir orchestral façon milieu du XXe siècle sur Twilight Hours et d'un rock cher au E Street sur Perfect World. Tracks II: The Lost Albums est disponible en édition limitée aux formats neuf LP et sept CD, avec le packaging original de chaque disque jusqu'ici inédit, ainsi qu'un livre relié en toile de 100 pages contenant de rares photos d'archives, des notes de pochette sur chaque album perdu signées de l'essayiste Erik Flannigan et une introduction personnelle au projet par Springsteen lui-même.
