Simple Dreams is Linda Ronstadt's eighth studio album, released in September 1977. It is widely regarded as one of the defining albums of the 1970s country-rock era and represents the commercial peak of Ronstadt's career. Produced by Peter Asher, the album combines rock, country, folk, and pop influences into a polished but emotionally powerful collection of songs. Like many of Ronstadt's best albums, Simple Dreams is built largely around carefully chosen interpretations of songs by other writers.
