Celestial Echo Records heads to the Cayman Islands for CER014, produced in association with Whale Rider Records and longtime friend of the label Medlar. This release shines a light on two incredible sides from the legendary Memory of Justice Band, one of the Caribbean's best-kept musical secrets. Formed in Grand Cayman during the 1970s, the group blended soul, reggae, funk, and island influences into a sound entirely their own, becoming one of the region's most beloved bands in the process. On the A-side is a gorgeous piece of sweet modern soul with "Going Round in Circles" - warm, uplifting and packed with the kind of effortless musicianship that makes you wonder how it stayed under the radar for so long. It's exactly the sort of record Celestial Echo was built for: soulful, timeless, and impossible not to fall for. Flip it over and things move firmly onto the dancefloor with the reggae-boogie burner "Power", produced by the legendary duo Sly and Robbie. Built around a heavyweight groove, tight rhythm section, and infectious hooks, it's the perfect counterpart to the sweetness of the A-side and a reminder of just how interconnected Caribbean music was during this period.
